Quarantine Experiences

“One of my favorite things to do during Quarantine was to go out biking with family. It was a nice way to get out and still be away from other people.”

Ms. Bitters

“The best thing that came out of my quarantine experience is that my husband and I adopted a dog.  My husband is a college professor and is now home all day so we thought it was the perfect time to adopt.  Our dog is a mixed breed but we think he is part beagle and terrier.  He was born on the island of St. Croix and was flown over here to a shelter.  He was seven months old when we adopted him and we named him Pilot.  He is the best dog ever!  We love having him and he brings so much joy to our lives.  So if it wasn’t for the quarantine we probably would’ve never adopted him and missed out on this wonderful experience.”

Ms. Hyde

“Quarantine has given me new opportunities to appreciate a new side of life, simply by focusing on the positives that make my day better. Although my social interactions have become limited and rare, they have allowed me to really value the time I spend with friends and family. In an odd sense, I feel less influenced by others, so I've also grown more confident in my own thoughts and perspectives.”

Anthony Vy

“I’ve enjoyed watching various classic movies over quarantine. Quarantine has given my family and I the opportunity to sit down, relax, and watch films.”

Dillon Jones

“Over quarantine I enjoyed spending more time with my family and doing things I usually wouldn’t have time for. Some of my favorites were going on walks and trying new recipes.”

Kate Schnitker

“I enjoyed sleeping. I also enjoyed napping.”

Liam Dunbrack

“Over quarantine it was really nice to continue to run everyday. With everything going on I needed something to focus on and get better at, and running did that for me.”

Max Weiss

“Over quarantine, I enjoyed gardening and bike riding.  I've always loved plants, but for the first time, I am the owner and cultivator of four rose bushes!  I can't believe what a feeling of accomplishment I have when I see a bud forming and then watch it until it blooms.  And I've rediscovered the joys of riding a bike - my last bike was stolen years ago, and I haven't ridden one since then.  I love exploring new parts of the city that I haven't seen and riding the West Orange Trail into Winter Garden for lunch.”
